What is the Westminster 1851 Challenge?

The Westminster College 1851 Challenge is 1,851 minutes of giving. The 1851 Challenge kicks off at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 26 and runs through 6:51 PM on Thursday, February 27. During these 1,851 minutes, make an impact by giving to The Westminster Fund or another one of our giving pages.

What makes my gift special?

During these 1,851 minutes, your gift has an even bigger impact, thanks to a group of generous supporters providing challenges.  

1851 Challenge gifts help your favorite areas of Westminster College win these challenge funds. Throughout the day, leaderboards will show progress in real-time, and challenges will enhance the fun and anticipation.

Can I send my gift in via the mail?

While we strongly encourage online giving, checks received by February 27, with "1851 Challenge" in the memo line, will be counted toward the day’s total.

Can I make a gift with stocks or securities for the 1851 challenge?

Yes! Please call us at 573.592.5424 or email our team at giving@wcmo.edu. Thank you for letting us know in advance so we can count your gift. Be sure to mention “1851 challenge.”

Can I make a gift through a donor-advised fund?

Yes! To make a distribution to Westminster College through your donor-advised fund, please contact your financial institution and include “Westminster College 1851 Challenge” along with your gift designation. Let our team know at giving@wcmo.edu that we can count on your support.

What payment methods do you accept online?

In addition to debit and credit cards, you can make your gift using PayPal, Venmo, GooglePay or ApplePay.

I made a gift earlier this year. Will that count?

If you have already given to Westminster College this year, thank you for your gift! 

We encourage you to participate in the 1851 Challenge and support the areas you love with an additional gift. Only gifts made on February 26-27 count towards the totals that can unlock challenge funds for the area that means the most to you. Your additional gift will inspire others to give as well.
